When I had to go on Medicare our insurance agent advised us to get a regular Supplement plan and not an Advantage Plan. We have more freedom of choice of vendor and it costs less from the Medicare funds. I recollect that the insurance companies got a big chunk of unnecessary money for Advantage and I suggest it is one of the places wasted money will be saved with single payer.

I don't really trust what United Health does and I don'y buy it when they and their ilk are referred to as non-profit. But, I do think we need to be aware of these developments. To be honest, I don't really understand all the fancy language in this piece. The words "Value-based Primary Care" do sound nice.
